Subject: Re: [jmmc-eso-tech] P88 Calibrator Catalogue - Preliminary Release V2

Dear Olivier and Sylvain,

unfortunately Apr2011WithMagN-2.fits.gz contains several problems preventing it to be accepted as P88 version, because the catalogue can not be converted to the ESO format.

Please, have a look at the following.

1. "UD" and "UDDK" columns are empty, which means the quality flag for AMBER can not be assigned. I remind you the convention: 1 - if the calibrator is in the JSDC and Borde/Merand, 2 - if in the JSDC only, 5/6 - if the additional "surface temperature"/"LD coefficient" tables are used (ESO internal).

  • UDDK concernent Borde/Merand.

2. Certain calibrators have "2MASS" names omitted, though they do exist in Simbad. I have discovered this problem while trying to assign the "Name" column values to the ESO list. Normally the HIP name is used, it is substituted by 2MASS name if not present. Some JMMC calibrators did not have both, however TYC and DM names were there, so I decided to check them in Simbad.
The examples:
DM 8500286, TYC 4651-468-1   -> 2MASS J17250700+8506558
DM 8400163, TYC 4631-2479-1  -> 2MASS J08040514+8355086
DM 7900762, TYC 4609-64-1    -> 2MASS J23021420+8014108

  • d'autres pistes ?

3. I have also discovered that some calibrators have the erroneous H-band magnitude.
The examples:
HIP 30438: -101.189 instead of -1.28
HIP 57529: -93.174 instead of 6.6

HIP 15863: null instead of 0.413
