Some notes on the JSDC V2 released to ESO on april 2014 - V2014-04-23
Files and additional stuff:
- the fits file with limited columns and associated records with initial column set under votable file format
- additional "unordered" stuff with more data and logs
- simbad otypes black list
Main changes:
- new color relations fitted on 195 stars (SNR>20, residuals < 5 sigma)
- refined filtering:
- -0.5 < Av < 3
- chi2 < 25 for av/dist, distance modulus & diameters
- modified e_LDD: diameter error corrected by LDD_chi2: Error on limb-darkened diameter (= weighted mean diameter error x SQRT(chi2) if chi2 > 1)
- removed useless LDD_quality column (former max_residuals on diameters)
- filtering uses all simbad otypes

- input : 95482 stars from HIP2
- output : 74470 stars

Comparison vs Bright star catalog
- BSC contains 9110 rows (a small fraction describes multiple systems)
- 9016 entries are included in HIP2, +250 of them have not been retained in the original list for JSDC V2 because of error on the plx
- 8727 (96%) BSC stars have been processed when constructing the JSDC but only 4836 (53%) get a robust diameter
- 1237 haven't good enough information to compute a robust diameter
- 1564 have been rejected for multiplicity
- 1047 have been rejected for bad object types
- others are rejected by badcal

Improvment space
- ~15 stars remain in this catalog which are probably binaries because included in TDS with a separation measure < 5 arc
