Hello there!
I’m Zain and I’m a first year PhD student at the Nicolaus Copernicus Center for Astronomy in Toruń, Poland. I am currently working on mid IR imaging of the luminous red novae event V838 Mon with data obtained with the VLTI. In fact my most recent project involved the geometrical modelling of MATISSE data which you can learn more about in one of the posters! My hope is to perform imaging in the near future which makes this school a great opportunity for me to familiarise myself with the techniques and theory of image re-construction.
During my undergraduate days I used to study the emission from Blazars using radio interferometry techniques. My thesis itself was a detailed polarisation study of two such objects (BL Lac and 3C 454.3).
When I am not doing astrophysics I am mostly reading Japanese mangas, watching MCU movies/shows or playing video games.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about my work or any good manga suggestions.
Cheers!
