Hello everyone,
my name is Catalina, but everyone calls me Cata (or even “Flowers”, which is the Spanish-English translation of my last name). I am a 3rd year PhD student at Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB), in Chile.
I am currently working (from home) on my thesis project, which can be divided in two sub-projects: the first one involves the use of near-infrared interferometry to characterize the innermost regions of protoplanetary disks and help to disentangle planetary signals from dust emission. The second sub-project seeks to exploit the potential of stellar imaging astrometry to detect Earth-mass exoplanets with future NASA space missions, such as HabEx.
Besides doing science and dreaming about exoplanets, I also love to read books, play video games, try-to-play the piano and pet my cat 🙂\
I’m really looking forward to participating in this school!
Greetings from Chile,
Cata
