Hello everyone, I am Algita from Lithuania (Kaunas is twin brother of Pittsburg), living in Rome and Warsaw, currently finishing my 3rd year of PhD at the University of Warsaw, Astronomical observatory. My research is based on different types of Adaptive Optics techniques and their application towards exploring Intermediate Mass Black Holes via gravitational microlensing phenomenon. I am currently working with VLT NaCo images and future based instrument MICADO of ELT (spent 6 months working with Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg). I am more focused on engineering perspectives and especially ESO instruments, that is why I am attending school again (previously in 2018 in Lisbon, which was the best way to learn a lot about data reduction, and observations, also interferometry).

Apart from my scientific career, I am professional fencer in sabre, also practicing in epee (Rome “Lazio” team, Warsaw “Warszawianka” team, part time in “AWF ASZ” academy, “TSG-Rohrbach” in Heidelberg), also big supporter of Liverpool football club for 20 years, passionated by retro cars, travelling and hats.
