2025 CHARA annual Science Meeting

The 2025 CHARA Science Meeting will be held at Nice on April 28-30, 2025.
It will be hosted by Denis Mourard and the Observatoire Côte d’Azur, which are also organizing a one-day workshop on 25 April on "Long term future of Optical Interferometry".
People from JMMC will take part in the CHARA Meeting, presenting the updates of the JMMC tools and services.

JMMC ASPRO2 25.03 ready for ESO Period 116 & CHARA 2025B semester

This last Aspro2 release improves the offer of analytical models with black-body components (temperature is a parameter and target flux is estimated depending on the instrument configuration). It indeed supports GetStar 6.0 beta interoperability to obtain all fluxes and complete target information.

JMMC ASPRO2 24.09 ready for ESO Period 115 & CHARA 2025A semester

This last Aspro2 release provides long-standing enhancements (UV Coverage panel to handle U-axis orientation, new live mode ’now’ to generate only 1 data point to OIFITS, ’Configuration Manager’ available in all versions).

Awards in the optical interferometry community

At the last SPIE meeting, during the conference "Optical and Infrared Interferometry and Imaging IX" prizes have been awarded to people deeply and succesfully involved on the development and the success of the optical interferometry.
The recipients were:

Aspro2 & SearchFTT ready for ESO-P114 and CHARA-2024B Call for Proposals

The last Aspro2 release provides an new advanced OIFITS data simulator - to estimate first the GRAVITY Fringe Tracker’s performance (single & dual field) then its impact on GRAVITY or MATISSE (GRA4MAT) observations - and an improved Adaptive Optics performance model to preliminary support the coming GRAVITY+ GPAO for VLTI UTs to be installed in Summer 2024.

2024 CHARA/GSU annual Science Meeting

The 2024 CHARA Science Meeting was held at Tucson, AZ on March 12-14, 2024.
It was hosted by NSF’s NOIRLab, which was organizing a one-day workshop on 11 March on "Charting Quantum Horizons: Establishing a Roadmap for Microarcsecond Astronomy".
People from JMMC took part in the meetings, presenting during the CHARA days the updates of the tools open to the community as well as possible developments to the OIDB database.
