Java programs
The JMMC chooses to distribute its Java software using the Java WebStart technology. It automatically checks for available software updates and bring you the last versions. This software is usually associated to the jnlp file extension.
As an alternative if this mechanism does not work onto your system, you can download the same application as one jar file, but without the automatic software update advantage. Then you should be able to launch the application :
- by double-clicking the downloaded file;
- through the following command line:
java -jar yourPath/downloadedFile.jar
If you use the jar files, we strongly encourage you to subscribe to the corresponding RSS feed.
You will then be notified of each new releases, in order to manually install them.
